Formal Terms and Conditions
- The Seller is Roots Kitchens Bedrooms Bathrooms to whom all payments become due for goods and services provided.
- The purchaser is the individual, firm or limited company from whom an order has been accepted and who becomes responsible for payment for all goods and services provided.
- The specification of the goods and services are only that specified in the acceptance of order. Any changes in the specification will be the subject of an additional order.
- The price is to be paid as specified in the quotation and a part payment is to be made by the purchaser and accepted by the seller on placement of the order.
- The contract is established when the seller accepts the
order.
- Any items that are ordered, made or modified to meet the purchaserメs order may not be cancelled.
- In the event of non payment being made by the purchaser at the due date, the seller reserves the right to withhold delivery until payment can be made and has the right to charge 2% per month on any monies due, calculated on a daily basis. The seller also has the right to charge an additional delivery cost all of which the customer agrees to pay.
- The goods shall be at the risk of the purchaser following delivery. Notwithstanding delivery, title in the goods shall not pass to the purchaser until the purchaser has made payment of all sums owing to the seller. Until such time as title in the Goods passes to the Purchaser the seller shall have the right to repossess or otherwise recover the goods.
- The seller shall not be liable for any default due to circumstance beyond reasonable control of the Seller including, but not limited to, Acts of God, war, fire, flood, and shortage of supply or failure to deliver of our suppliers.
- All orders and any dispute arising there from shall be governed by English law and subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
- Nothing in these conditions shall affect the statutory rights of a consumer.

Placing an order
We try to make ordering as easy as possible. Many items can be ordered directly
from this website (click the "buy" button next to the product you are looking at).
We can also take orders over the phone on 01227 751130, or you can order in person
at our showroom near Faversham, Kent (address below). We accept payment by Credit Card
(your card will be charged in Pounds Sterling, either over in person at our showroom,
over the phone, or via our Secure Server for orders placed through the website), Cheque (in person or by post before goods
are despatched), or by Cash (in person at our showroom, unfortunately we are unable to
accept cash on delivery). |

Delivery Charges
Almost all items can be collected from our showroom near Faversham, Kent, in this case no delivery charge will apply.
Deliveries are charged according to weight, location and method of delivery. The order system will calculate this for you. |

Deliveries - Important Notes!
Deliveries of heavy items are to the 'kerbside' - for items like worktops the drivers will need help unloading and are normally quite helpful in carrying things from the lorry into your home. HOWEVER - DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO CARRY GOODS UP SEVERAL STAIRCASES INTO FLATS!
You will also need to ensure that there is good access for large lorries to your home (EG removal type lorries), if not you MUST tell us so if need be we can make special arrangement for a smaller lorry to deliver to you. |

Deliveries
We can normally despatch your order of a standard product within 7 business days. However, we are also able to take (and strongly encourage!) orders for future delivery dates. To schedule orders for future delivery please call us on 01227 751130, email sales@rootskitchens.co.uk, or enter your preferred delivery date when ordering online. When you place an order, we will call you to confirm the delivery arrangements are acceptable to you before processing you payment. If we are unable to deliver at a mutually convenient time your order can be cancelled and you will not be charged. Please remember that if we have arranged a delivery with you and you can't accept delivery, need to cancel or amend the delivery details WITHOUT GIVING US SUFFICIENT NOTICE OF THE CHANGE, we may need to charge you for the aborted delivery. Note this charge would be the actual cost of delivery which may be more than the standard delivery charge listed on your order. This is due to the fact that many of our delivery charges are subsidised within the cost of the product . Sufficient notice varies depending on the product. Delivery dates are estimates and subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. We advise that you do not book fitters until after you have received delivery as we cannot accept responsibility for delays. |

Delivery Timings
Our products are sent through a number of different delivery systems, ranging from envelopes with the Royal Mail to specially arranged point to point deliveries by articulated lorry. Thus it is very hard for us to say here exactly when you can expect delivery. For small items (Filters, handles etc), we normally send these by Courier or Royal Mail. As these will not normally fit through your letter box we normally let you know before we send them to check you will be at home, if you are out the couriers will leave you a card to call them. If you don't call them they will return the goods to us and you may be charged for re-delivery. Larger/Fragile items (sinks, ovens, kitchen furniture) are generally delivered by a dedicated lorry (Either by Manufacturers, Distributors, or other Hauliers). Before accepting your order we will confirm you will be at home to receive the delivery. We cannot say for certain what time in the day these deliveries will arrive. For most deliveries we are able to call drivers on the day of the delivery and get an ESTMATE of what time they will arrive with you. |

Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you. You will always be contacted with the option to cancel all or part of your order if you would rather not wait. |

Amendments to Orders
Should you need to make changes to or cancel an order you have already placed with us, we will do our best to stop the order and refund all of the money you have paid. However, depending on the product we may not be able to stop an order once it has been accepted and in these cases you will be liable for the full payment. |

Cancelling your Order / Returns
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you may cancel your order at any point up to 7 days after receiving delivery and we will give you a full refund less costs associated with the return. We may out of goodwill extend this for a longer period of time. However, many of our products are exempt from this legislation and cannot be returned. You should contact us first to by email or phone to arrange the return of a product. Please remember:
- Many of our products are modified or manufactured on receipt of your order. These items cannot normally be cancelled once work has begun and you will be liable for the full cost of the product.
- Any goods you wish to return must be in their original packaging, unused and undamaged. If you return the goods you should insure them against carrier damage. You are responsible for the safe keeping of goods until they are received by us or collected by our agents
- Some products have no easy way of arranging returns, for example the cost of collecting and handling returns of Laminate Worktops is higher than the cost of the worktops. As you are responsible for the cost of returning the product it may not be in your interest to return them.
- Generally speaking, small products like cooker hood filters, chrome wirework, handles and some taps attract no handling charge on their return so you will only pay for the return carriage cost. Larger, packaged items like kitchen cabinets and doors, appliances, sinks, some taps would all need detailed inspection on return to check for missing parts and there will be a charge for this.

Guarantees All of our products are new and fully guaranteed by the manufacturer. If you would like further details on a specific product please contact us. The manufacturers are responsible for the guarantees but if you have any questions on products we have sold to you or you are interested in buying please feel free to contact us. Guarantees do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Tax Charges All prices in this web site include VAT at the current rate. If you are exempt from VAT (for example export orders) please contact us as showroom@rootskitchens.co.uk for details of how you can order tax free.
Credit Card Security We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. |

The contact details below should also be used if you have a complaint. We work hard to ensure that you have no problems when dealing with Roots. If you have a complaint we will work hard and fast to rectify your immediate problem. We will reply within 1 working day of your initial contact with us. We will also make any necessary changes to prevent the problem happening to other customers. We will always keep you informed of our progress with any problems. |
